Meet Moose!  He is a 6 year old, 70lb yellow lab that was surrendered by his owners due to a move.

Personality

Moose is a friendly, handsome boy with a happy-go-lucky personality and a heart full of love. He adores people of all ages, including kids, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Moose is a trusting dog who looks to his humans and canine companions for guidance and is happiest when he’s spending time with his pack.

While Moose enjoys affection, he’s not demanding about it. A few pets are all it takes to make his tail wag, and he’ll happily thank you with some sweet, sloppy kisses. He loves going for walks, enjoys car rides, and has excellent manners when traveling. Moose is settling into foster care quickly and has been a joy to have around.

Training

Moose has great house manners and is proving to be an easy companion. He does well in a crate, walks nicely on a leash, and rides calmly in the car. He is very food motivated but is also respectful around food—he doesn’t beg and has shown excellent manners around food left on counters.

Since arriving in foster care, Moose has not yet demonstrated knowledge of specific commands, but he does respond to the word “no.” He hasn’t shown much interest in toys so far, preferring to spend his time with his people. Moose is also working on building confidence with stairs, as he currently seems unsure about going up or down them. With a little patience and encouragement, we expect this smart and willing boy will continue to learn and thrive.
