Personality
Jonny is the definition of a lovable Labrador. His favorite things are simple: good food, lots of affection, and spending time with his people. He thrives on companionship and is happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or playing in the yard. His gentle, easygoing nature makes him a joy to be around, and his sweet personality is impossible not to love.
Training & Manners
Jonny has been an excellent houseguest. He hasn’t chewed on anything he shouldn’t, has had no accidents inside the home, and settles in nicely. He’s still polishing up his potty training and currently prefers using the deck instead of venturing into the grass, but he’s making steady progress as he learns the routine.
It’s clear Jonny hasn’t had much formal training before coming into rescue, but he’s eager to learn. He doesn’t yet know commands like sit, down, or stay, but he’s food-motivated, people-focused, and loves earning praise—all wonderful qualities for training success. He isn’t stubborn; he simply hasn’t been taught yet.
Jonny is also working on his leash manners. He can be enthusiastic and likes to pull while walking, but with the recent heat, most of his exercise has been in the backyard rather than on neighborhood walks. As he gets more opportunities to practice, he’s sure to continue improving.
Jonny is looking for a family that will enjoy his affectionate, people-oriented personality and help him continue learning the basics. He doesn’t need perfection—just consistency, patience, and lots of love. In return, he’ll reward his family with endless loyalty, goofy Labrador antics, and unconditional affection.
