Meet Indy!  He is a 7 month old, 55lb yellow lab puppy that was surrendered by his owner after they could no longer care for him.

Meet Indy!

Indy is a 7-month-old, 55-pound Lab with a big personality, a goofy spirit, and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is full of charm, energy, and classic young Lab fun. With his striking looks—including a unique blue mark in one of his eyes that makes him extra special—Indy has a way of winning people over almost instantly.

Personality

Indy is playful, affectionate, and always ready to be part of the action. Around his house, he’s lovingly known as “The Big Flop” because his coordination is a little… creative. He doesn’t exactly run—he flops his way around in the goofiest, most lovable way possible. Between his silly antics and those heart-melting eyes, it’s impossible not to smile around him.

He starts many mornings as the household alarm when he lets everyone know he is ready to start the day. Morning zoomies are often followed by bouncing around like Thumper the rabbit and checking out every toy in the toy box. He especially loves carrying around his favorite blue stuffed animal.

Indy loves being with his people and wants to be included in everything. Whether you’re cooking in the kitchen, relaxing on the couch, or getting ready for the day, he’ll be right by your side. In his ideal world, he’d happily choose your couch, your lap, or your bed over his own every single time.

He also loves long walks and would happily keep going for hours. Indy is very social and gets excited when he sees other animals because he immediately assumes they are there to be his new best friend. He shows no aggression—just lots of enthusiasm and a strong desire to play. He previously spent time playing for hours with a Frenchie and did great.

Training

Indy is still very much a young puppy in a big Lab body, so continued structure and consistency will help him shine. He has caught on well with house training and will stand by the door when he needs to go outside. He does best with a regular routine and clear direction.

He has also learned to sit for treats and is very food motivated—like any true Lab, he acts like he hasn’t eaten in days! His family has been working on helping him stay calm and polite around mealtime, and he continues to make great progress.

Indy will go into his kennel, although he is quick to let you know—with his deep voice—that it is not his favorite place to stay. He would much rather be close to his people than spending time alone. Like many Labs his age, he can get excited and may jump up, so continued training and guidance will be important, especially with his size and enthusiasm.

He also did very well with grooming and baths, including de-shedding treatments, and was calm for the process—though he would prefer to skip the toenail trim if given the choice.

Indy would do best with an active family who is ready to continue his training while enjoying all the fun, laughter, and love that comes with raising a young Lab.
