Meet Moses!  He is a 8 month old, 40lb chocolate lab mix that was surrendered by his owner with his brother, Hank.

Personality:  Moses is an active, playful pup with tons of energy. He’s always ready for a game of fetch, a walk, or any adventure you have in mind! Moses is a fun-loving dog who enjoys being part of the action and can keep up with an active lifestyle.  He has been a little bit fearful with all of the transition, but he loves humans of all sizes and also gets along great with other dogs.  He loves his toys, and you’ll usually find him carrying one around, ready to play.

Training:  Moses is fully house-trained and eager to learn new things, especially if there’s a treat involved! His lively personality is balanced by his willingness to please, making him a great match for someone who enjoys an active dog.

Updates

Hi friends, Moses here with a quick update from my foster home! I’ve officially declared my crate as “Moses HQ”—I’ll sprint there when I hear “in your room,” especially for a treat. I’m slowly getting more comfortable in the crate, but I do have a little bit of separation anxiety. When my humans head out, I’ll sometimes whine or get restless, though I’m improving every day as I learn that they always come back.

Now that my congestion is gone (thanks, Eastgate Animal Hospital!), I’m back to full energy: playing fetch like a pro, mastering tug-of-war (I’m small but mighty!), and zooming around the dog park. I’m also much more snuggly. Fair warning: my cuddles come with signature body slam. Brace yourself! My leash walking still needs a little polish—let’s call it a work in progress—but treats are helping. I haven’t had any accidents in days, and I’m getting braver about things that used to spook me, like hearing car doors slam. My two new favorites this week? Roasted pumpkin and serving on the neighborhood watch team. Though I was caught falling asleep on the job once, or twice…

If you’re looking for a young, active sidekick with tons of potential, I’m your guy!

Moses’ Foster Home Feature: Weekend Report

Hello, readers! Moses here, your intrepid reporter and, paws crossed, soon-to-be adopted adventure buddy. Bringing you the exclusive scoop on my first weekend at my new foster home. Let’s dive into the highlights:

Top Headline: I’m a speedster! My foster mom challenged me to a race across the soccer field, but let’s just say she’s still looking for my dust trail. Fast and responsive—I know my name and come on the first call. Every. Time. Plus, I’ve already scoped out the local squirrel scene and marked a few as “high-priority chases.”

House Training Update: Mostly a success story! Sure, I’ve had a couple of “learning moments,” but I’m quick to catch on, especially with treats as rewards. The crate? I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% sold yet and feel a bit nervous going in solo, but foster mom’s frozen Kong trick is a game-changer. It’s like having my own little snack suite!

Socialite Spotting: I made a big debut at the farmer’s market, where I mingled, schmoozed, and won over the crowd with my charm. I might have even signed a few autographs. I’m also a friendly guy with other dogs, once I have time to meet up close—even my giant 100-pound canine housemate! Occasionally, I’ll give a little growl to remind neighbor dogs to keep their distance, but once we’re face-to-face, I’m all tail wags and good vibes.

Hobbies: When I’m not cuddling up with my foster dad by the firepit (I’m an outdoor couch connoisseur), you can find me exploring the dog toy bin. I can be a bit protective of my bones and toys, but foster mom just talks me through it, and I’m learning to share like a champ. Stay tuned for my upcoming podcast, where I hope to interview my fur-ever family!
