Meet Michael! He is a 1 year old, 54lb chocolate lab mix that was found stray in Kentucky.
Personality: Michael is a playful, happy-go-lucky Lab mix with a heart full of joy. He loves humans and other dogs. Michael is always ready to play, cuddle, or just brighten your day with his wagging tail and sweet smile. He loves to play fetch and he is always up for an adventure.
Training: Michael is making progress on the leash and enjoys his daily walks. As a young pup, he’ll benefit from continued basic training and structure to help him channel his enthusiasm. He does know a few basic commands like “sit” and “paw.” With positive reinforcement and consistent guidance, Michael will quickly learn the ropes!
Updates
General
Michael is such a sweet dog and aims to please in every way. He is extremely affectionate and plays well with every dog that he meets. He loves to cuddle or lie by your side. He did very well at the dog wash and made several friends in the lobby while we were waiting! He was great in the car and stayed on his half of the seat.
Crate
He does a great job in his crate. He goes through the night without a peep and goes into the crate with no resistance. He wines a bit when we go out but not for long.
Training
He pulls a bit on the leash but walks really well with our dog. He knows sit and paw so we are still working on expanding his skills. He is super food motivated.
Play
He loves to play catch and has more energy than most! He’s gentle with our dog and the two will share toys.
Overall, he is an amazing little dog with lots of energy, wants to please and has lots of love to share.
Volunteer Update
Michael is always ready for fun! He’s a little strong on the leash, but with some consistency, he’ll be walking like a pro in no time. He’s super treat-motivated and already knows “sit” and “paw.”
Fetch is his favorite game—he’ll bring the ball right back and even drop it for you. But fair warning: when you go to pick it up, he might jump up to join the excitement!
Michael’s a happy-go-lucky guy with so much love to give. He’s ready to find his perfect adventure buddy!
