Meet Kylo!  He is a 2 year old black lab mix that was found stray in Kentucky.  Kylo was brought into rescue as a medical case after he started to have seizures.  He has recently started on a medication (Keppra) and has responded very well!

Personality:  Kylo is a calm and laid-back dog who responds well to commands and enjoys being around people. Kylo thrives on outdoor adventures and would do well with a family who enjoys an active lifestyle. Despite his calm demeanor, Kylo has a playful side and shows excitement—especially when food is involved!  Kylo is dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other canine friends.  He occasionally gets excited around food and may jump, but his well-trained nature makes this manageable with gentle reminders.

Training:  Kylo is well-trained, and he knows all of the basics.  He is housetrained.   He also knows several commands, including Sit, Stay, Paw, Down.  Kylo is highly treat-motivated and eager to learn!

Updates

Kylo came to us a week and a half ago so he could take advantage of a fenced in yard.  He loves to go outside and roam around, investigating the area on his own.
He has blended in with our 2 dogs and all the boys get along very well.  He was not sure of his situation initially, but now feels comfortable in his surroundings.
He is truly a gentle giant as he is closer to 80lbs now.
Since he came to visit us we have not witnessed any seizures and he has been stable on his medication.  We put his meds in his food.
Kylo loves attention, but does not compete for it.  He is also happy taking a nap on his own and laying around away from our dogs.  He loves to go on walks and is happy to greet other dogs or people.  At night he sleeps in a bed at the foot of our bed.  He is food motivated and also likes to know what you are eating.  He will crate, but has been left out with our boys, multiple times, when we are away from the house.  He loves dog toys and has not chewed on anything he is not supposed to.
We believe that he will be a great addition to any household ready to love this big boy!

Kylo is such a good boy. He is doing very well in our home getting along with his foster canine sister. He enjoys chewing chew toys and ropes. He leaves our Christmas tree alone along with any of our decorations and personal items.

He is really good at reading the room. If his foster sibling wants to play, he engages. If she is content napping, so is he. He enjoys being around us and is usually not far from where we are. He is potty trained and as stated previously, he sits, shakes and lays down.  Kylo is very food motivated.  He does well in a crate. We crate him when we are gone and at night although, we may start leaving him out at night. I think he would prefer to be with us.

Kylo is a big boy, and strong. He is also a bit of a gentle giant so I think will make a great pet for most anyone. He really is a gem of a dog.
