Meet Ducky!  He is a 1.5 year old, 42lb black lab mix.  He was brought into rescue after being thrown from a pick up truck and abandoned.  His story might be sad, but he has the happiest spirit!

Personality:  Ducky is a fun-loving black Lab mix . He is playful, confident, and full of life. He loves to cuddle, be petted, and just soak up attention. He’s a happy, trusting boy who enjoys being around people.  He is an A+ snuggle bug!  He is also very playful – he loves toys, bones, and to romp in the yard with doggie friends.  He’ll thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content.

Training:  Ducky knows most of the basics.  He is housetrained and crate trained.  He is also learning basic commands.  He knows how to sit, paw, and is starting to learn how to stay.  He is very treat-motivated so it makes training a bit easier.  He does well on a leash and has shown potential as a running partner. Ducky is friendly with other dogs and loves to play!

With patience and consistency, Ducky will grow into an amazing companion.

Updates

Ducky (who we have affectionately nicknamed “Squirt”) is a lover and cuddle bug!  This dog craves attention and love and he gives it in return.  He is sweet, but he still have puppy energy.  He has settled in and adjusted to our home and structure.  He will probably do best in a home with another dog.  He loves our resident dog and follows her everywhere.  He always wants to play with her or lay next to her or be touching her.  He has learned basic commands such as sit, and paw, but we are still working on stay.  He does very well on a leash, but is lacking in manners when he meets or sees new dogs.  He is crate trained and potty trained.  He loves his toys, especially his Nylabones.  Words cannot explain how this dog loves.  He would do best in home where he receives a lot of attention, has someone who is patient and consistent with him, and probably in a home with someone who is home a lot (or another dog to keep him company).

He is just the sweetest!
