Meet Alegra! She is a 4 year old, 55lb black lab mix that was found stray in Tennessee.
Personality: Alegra is a beautiful, sweet young girl who is just beginning to show her true, joyful self. She is silly, playful, and incredibly people-friendly — once she trusts you, she wants nothing more than to be by your side. Alegra loves kids and even tried to play with the neighborhood children during an outing! Despite a tough few months, she is blossoming more every day. She can be a little shy at first, but she is very loving once she feels safe. She did great meeting people during a trip to the pet store and handled her much-needed bath like a champ. Alegra is looking for a family who will give her the grace and patience she deserves as she settles into her new life.
Training: Alegra is very smart and already knows the command “sit.” She does well in her kennel and feels safest eating inside it. She doesn’t fully understand treats yet, but with time and encouragement, she’ll catch on quickly. Alegra needs a little extra support during car rides and transport — she’s doing better each time but will need someone willing to go at her pace. With love and consistency, Alegra will thrive and become a loyal and loving companion.
